ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH ALEX STOCKER
Hi there, Alex here.
My name is Alex and I'll be your English teacher. I am from County Durham in the northeast of England, but I have lived in Mallorca for 14 years. Palma is now my home.

Bio
Language and travelling have always been two of my passions, and so teaching seemed a great way to be able to combine the two. I have been lucky enough to live all over the world, show my enthusiasm for my native tongue, and make a living from it.

Having spent my childhood summers here, Mallorca has always been dear to my heart so when the opportunity arose for a potential teaching job at International House Palma, I jumped at the chance and arranged an interview while I was on holiday. Needless to say I got the job and a few weeks later I was making the move to Palma.
After a few years at International House, and a stint at Brunel University, London, I decided I needed to see more of the world and armed with my teaching degree, I went to Australia and New Zealand where I spent two years teaching English. I really improved my skills by teaching multi-lingual classes; not just Spanish-speakers like in Palma.
After two years away from Mallorca, I felt the pull to come back again so in 2013, I returned to the island. Year after year were spent honing my craft in private academies across the city. Now, I specialise in Cambridge exam preparation, especially FIRST, ADVANCED, and PROFICIENCY. I am currently a speaking test examiner for the University of Cambridge. I have been a qualified CELTA trained teacher (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) since 2009, and a qualified speaking examiner since 2011, both accredited by the University of Cambridge.
